Blood donation involves collecting blood from a donor so it can be used to treat someone else.

Blood donations are an essential part of our healthcare system. If we did not have volunteers giving blood, many medical procedures we take for granted could not take place.
Doctors and surgeons rely on blood donations to carry out life-saving and life-enhancing treatments every day.

How can I donate blood?

There are four main blood groups (types of blood): A, B, AB and O. Your blood group is determined by the genes you inherit from your parents.

Each group can be either RhD positive or RhD negative, which means your blood group can be one of the eight types shown below (see the Rh system).

What is blood?

Your body carries around four to six litres (7 to 10.5 pints) of blood. Blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in a liquid called plasma.
Plasma is about 90% water, but also contains proteins, nutrients, hormones and waste products. Blood is made up of about 60% plasma and 40% blood cells.
It's unusual to find blood in your semen when you ejaculate, but try not to worry – it is usually only temporary and the cause is rarely anything sinister.
The semen may be blood stained, brownish-red in colour or have a pink tinge – but in any case, you should see your doctor  for a full investigation.
In many cases, no obvious cause can be found for blood in the semen, in which case it may be the result of a forgotten or unnoticed injury to the genitals, such as a trouser-zip accident.
Some other likely causes of blood in the semen are outlined below. This is intended to give you a better idea of the underlying problem, but you should not use it to diagnose yourself with a condition – always see your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Common causes

At what age do you go through puberty?

You'll probably start to notice changes from age 10 upwards, but there's no right or wrong time to start. Some people go through puberty later than others. This is normal. If you have no signs of puberty by the age of 16, see a doctor for a check-up.

Is discharge from the vagina normal?

These are sacs produced when the colon and intestinal membranes are inflamed, forming little lateral sacs toward the outside of the intestine.

Symptoms
When these sacs are filled with food stomach problems begin because these sacs are not emptied after digestion. They keep food inside and produce putrefaction, gases and inflammation, causing what is called diverticulitis. In severe cases this infection can extend to other areas of the colon creating serious problems which could require surgery to remove the diverticulum.

Diabetes most frequently found in adults is diabetes mellitus type II. (type 1 is found in children). This disease occurs when the sugar concentration glucose in the blood is elevated.
The world health organization defines diabetes in the following manner: Diabetes mellitus is a state of chronic hyperglycemia produced by various factors genetic, nutritional, etc. the insulin hormone secreted by the beta cells in the pancreas is the principal regulator of the blood sugar concentration.  When this hormone is not produced efficiently, the blood sugar concentration rises, thus causing numerous maladies.

Symptoms

Is evidenced by an exaggerated need to urinate 10 or more times a day. In this way, the excess sugar is expelled.
Parent who desire to produce successful adults must endeavour to get relevant information that will help them talk to their children. The more knowledge a parent is the easier it becomes to talk to a growing child, especially an adolescent.

Tell your child your view about sex. Teach him the values you want him to uphold. Not in a dictatorship style, but in a friendly chat. Actually, the best way to communicate values and beliefs, even lifestyle, is by example. Let your child see your life as exemplary. Make him/her proud of having a mother or father like you.
