These are sacs produced when the colon and intestinal membranes are inflamed, forming little lateral sacs toward the outside of the intestine.

Symptoms
When these sacs are filled with food stomach problems begin because these sacs are not emptied after digestion. They keep food inside and produce putrefaction, gases and inflammation, causing what is called diverticulitis. In severe cases this infection can extend to other areas of the colon creating serious problems which could require surgery to remove the diverticulum.

Also are pain and cramping in the lower part of the abdomen causing constipation.

Causes
When a person is constipated, the effort to evacuate causes the pressure to increase inside the intestine. This causes the sacs, called diverticulum to inflate on the sides of the colon.
Stress, a lack of fiber and not drinking enough water are the main causes of constipation and as a consequence of the formation of diverticulum.

Suggested treatment
The intake of food rich in fiber is recommended (highly concentrated in carrots, oatmeal, banana, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, oranges and baked potatoes). In addition to this, drink a nutritional shake with fiber, liquids and aloe vera which is highly moisturizing and helpful for detoxification ( confirm in study accomplished by Jeffrey bland at the linus pauling institute. If diverticulum is infected a natural antibiotic should be taken.
Avoid foods which produce gas like whole grains, seeds and nuts.
