Symptoms
Occurs after 2 to 3 weeks of exposure, a fever becomes present,
pain is felt upon opening the mouth, and finally, the area of the neck below
the ears begins to swell. headaches, joint pain and a high temperature, which may develop a few days before the swelling of the parotid glands.
This occurs in children from the ages of 3 to 16. The testicles usually
swell and ache in boys older than 11 years of age.
Suggested treatment
Rest, large quantities of liquids, and stimulation of the immune
system with bee propolis and vitamin A, C, and E is recommended. Drinking aloe
vera juice will help reduce inflammation and diminish discomforts. This sickness
illness is usually over within 10 days.
- Rest when you feel weak or tired.
- Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen, to bring down your fever.
- Soothe swollen glands by applying ice packs.
- Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration due to fever.
- Eat a soft diet of soup, yogurt, and other foods that aren’t hard to chew (chewing may be painful when your glands are swollen)
- regularly washing your hands with soap
- using and disposing of tissues when you sneeze
- avoiding school or work for at least five days after your symptoms first develop
Note – mumps in children can cause sterility if rest is not
observed.
Supplements.
Multi- vitamin, B1, B6, B12, A, B2, C, B Complex,
Bee propolis, beta carotene with vitamin E.
Vitamin C, aloe vera juice.
