Menstruation and premenstrual syndrome are phenomena in which
women have vaginal bleeding during regular periods of about 28 days.
During the period prior to menstruation women have a series of
alterations in their organic and psychological physiology which produce strong
changes in their temperament.
Symptoms
In certain people, but not in general are
Depression
A sharp pain in the abdomen (cramps).
Headaches.
Acne.
Muscular cramps.
Water retention.
Insomnia
Abdominal swelling.
Nervousness.
Fatigue.
Pain in the joints.
Negative changes in personality (easily irritated, depressed,
crying,etc.)
Causes
These symptom is a hormonal
imbalance which occurs due to the excessive level of estrogen in comparison to
the progesterone level, in addition to a decrease of blood sugar
(hypoglycemia).
Cramps : During menstruation the body produces some hormones
called prostaglandins which stimulate the uterus muscles to contract and expel
menstrual waste. This produced cramps.
Treatment
The intake of multi- vitamins and minerals, especially calcium and
magnesium.
An adequate diet and daily exercise.
The following food should be reduced in the diet. Salt ( it causes
water retention), alcohol, coffee, cigarette, red meats such as pork and beef,
and canned foods.
Drink plenty of water with aloe vera juice before and after
menstruation. This will help reduce inflammation greatly and avoid pain.
Rigorously avoid constipation
Put a bag of warm water on the stomach. This will help reduce
inflammation as well as allow bllod to flow, thus relaxing the muscles.
Rub the abdomen with warm aloe vera and eucalyptus cream, also
reduce inflammation and relieves pain.
Supplements
Royal jelly or bee pollen, multi- minerals, aloe vera juice,
vitamin C
